Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is membership needed to play?
Yes. The Fort is a members only social club. You must register for membership before you will be able to participate in any game or event.
Q: Is poker legal in Texas?
Yes. A gambling establishment that takes money from the game is illegal. We do not take any money from the pot in any of our games and we operate our business through membership fees and seat charges.
Q: Do you sell alcohol?
No. Our social club is BYOB. You can bring alcohol and we will store it and serve it to you. All members must be 21 years of age or older.
Q: I’m a new player and I’m intimidated by the thought of sitting at a live poker game. Will people be annoyed with me?
Absolutely not – and if they are, they aren’t doing themselves any favors. The fact is that all of us start somewhere. If the players at The Fort are not helpful, the dealers and management are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about any aspect of the game. We cannot tell you “how” to play a hand, but we are happy to give you pointers on game flow and etiquette. Our dealers are thrilled to help poker newcomers find their legs.
Q: Are you open 24 hours?
Not officially, but we will stay open as long as there is a game. As we grow we will add more hours until we are fully operational. Current hours are 9a until the game is done. Give us a call for more details at (817)-441-1045.
